Property marked "US" on 1800's plat map

Anyone seen this before? I can't find on any map or photo where there has been a structure on this acreage but I see a few signs that make it worth checking.

Thanks for the screen shot, this is an odd one, maybe the land ownership was in dispute at the time of the survey for the map so they just marked it U.S.
