HEY GUYS AND GALS

Me and Cousin ED went out for a hunt today after getting crap yesterday.....8 musket balls.

Managed to pull out a couple keepers out of the far end of where we been hunting. New spot to us but ended up overlapping the other site a little bit.

The badge/eblem is a cool find...silver !!!

Any information on it would be appreciated.

The gun part has --BREVETE SGDG-- written on it. Any ideas on this piece would also be appreciated.

ive no info on it but great finds
cool badge
thanks for sharing

On the badge, you may be able to do a pencil scratching on it to see if it will pull more details. Brevete is a French term, I am pretty sure.

Not sure what it represents, but for starters it's a pin. You can see the remains of where it was connected on each side.

BREVETE SGDG is browning guns..older ones.... at least that what it says when I just looked it up.

I can see where it was attached to something....was found where almost everything is quite old.

Was quite excited to see it pop outta the mud.

Doesn't matter what was found with it, by the way it's made it's old, but not OLD.

YUP.. oldest it would be is mid 1800s as that is when it was required to mark silver with STERLING.....knew wasn,t real old when I seen the mark on the back.

But always exciting to see something like that pop outta the hole on a old site.

I'd be surprised if it was that old, or anywhere close to it. But someone will likely track it down.

yup...... is quite similar to the one Cousin ED found..but that was at the eastern end of the site ,about a mile away .

Regardless of age, is a cool piece, and silver to boot.

Nice variety there:icon_thumleft:

That silver is sweet..

Been following your threads lately , you guys are doing very well, makes me want a PI detector. Nice finds and keep it up :)

That's a very cool pin you found and yes it is alot like Cousin Ed's. Do you think you could put up a pic of the 2 of them side by side? They are very interesting.
