Question regarding 1050 coil

I have seen two versions of the FBS 1050 coil for the explorer II

The first says FBS 1050 on the sticker
The second is the same shape, size, etc. but does not say FBS 1050, it just says Minelab on the sticker.

Does anyone know if these are the same coil?

They make one for the Exterra series detectors that looks just like the used on the Explorer II's and early Quattro's. The one for the Explorer and Quattro will be shorter and have the coiled cable on the control box end of the cable.

I have used several of the early ones, and two of the FBS 1050 and if there's a difference other than color, and the black one being slightly better sealed, I do not see it. I'm quite convinced they are the same.

You are correct even with the 8" coils I noticed some have the fbs and some do not... I called Minelab in March and they said there is no difference.
