Thank you. Just looked it up it's circa 1970's. Seen one just like it on ebay for sale for 250.00. Appreciate the help.Just look up the stamp number there might be a date record.
Can't read it from the picture.
Reminds me of 1970s looking.
Questions about this chair. Says Virginia House on bottom.
Looks like the company is still in business--they have a website. My son picked this a while ago and I told him I would refinish it for him. However, I would like to date it and maybe get some feedback on it before I do.

IDK what kind of wood may be under that finish, but from several similar projects from that era and earlier, be prepared that there could be a mixture of woods that might not look so great next to each other "au naturale".
I wouldn't let that dissuade you though. If you don't like what's underneath, it can be refinished in another opaque finish.
Take another pic when it's done. 😉
My parents had that exact chair (model) when I was growing up.Just look up the stamp number there might be a date record.

This is what I came up with. You were right about the different woods so I opted for a painted colonial look.
I really did that for reliability reasons. Thought it would last longer verses paint getting chipped or something through wear and tear. It has more contact with the floor. From what it looked like, to the new look, it's quite the transformation.
The runners kind of stick out being wood brown, while everything is painted.
What was the reason why they were redone that way?

I've seen runners done both ways--painted and unpainted--It's up to you. You've chosen a dark enough color that dirt/scuffing is less likely to show, and the real W&T is on the bottoms of the runners where no one will see it anyway.I really did that for reliability reasons.
