Found in W PA woods. Appears to have remnants of wood inside and a rusted iron securing nail. Could this be a tip to a ram rod for a muzzleloader? Anyone got an ID? Thx for your help.

This could possibly be the end of a ramrod. The size and shape look to be about right. Congrat's.

Looks to be iron, haven't heard of an iron one or any that shape. Should be concave to match bullet point. the bullet.
It’s brass and heavy, thought it was a bullet when I first dug it, vdi 20 on Nox. It does have a perfect flat end.

Shotgun or fowler.

Bearing surface ideal for seating shotgun wads. Over powder wads and over shot wads. Not for seating roundball or elongated bullet. (Doable though in a pinch.)
Cut a tiny notch in the side / edge of a hard wad if need be to relieve compressed air pressure.

It most certainly is a ramrod end. I’ve dug 10-15 brass examples like that down here in Louisiana over the years.
