Some more stuff from the old ranch, including a cool Michelin tire valve stem dust cover patented in what looks like February 28, 1905, but Im not so sure on the year. Anyone know more? And what kind of vehicles used dust covers like this? Theres also that Ford switch and plate thing for lights. A snap hook I think is what they call them and a weird buckle that I hope someone here can identify. Also some more date nails, a nice 1931 and a nice 1927, and some old buttons and glass beads. Im not sure, I have to do some research, but they could be trade beads, the blue one was hand swirled and then ground smooth on both ends where the holes are, and I also found some old red trade pottery sherds mixed in. Thanks for looking.

Also saw this pronghorn when I took the back road home through the prairie. And that snake I almost stepped on! The little ones like that are the worst!

Cool finds, and is that a rattler?

Thank you and yes it is. Western Diamondback. This one is small, maybe a foot and 1/2 or so. The little ones are the worst, they're harder to see and so forth. And they dont usually rattle unless provoked.

More cool stuff. Make sure to watch your step partner!:o

Nice finds....cant get over those dated nails, and also how nicely that area preserves the finds !!

What a bunch of neat stuff Old Pueblo.

That is a nice old valve stem and could have been used on anything with auxiliary spoke wheels and pneumatic tires and could even been used on the Model T that your dash plate came from.

That "Alamo Brand" button is way cool and dates to 1900-1908. That's a nice find!

The P&A MFG ACORN wheel is the wick adjuster off of an old kerosene lamp.

Here are a couple of photos that will help with your buckle etc.

Wow, thanks a bunch! I had no idea this ford thing was that old. I was thinking more modern, from the the 40s or 50s or something. And thank you for the buckle and button ID. I was trying to find some info on Alamo Brand, but I couldnt find anything, and I didnt think it was that old either!

If you dont mind me asking, where did that Midland Co collar fastener thing come from. An old book? What year is that from, if you know?

The one item does look like a model T light switch and amp gauge bezel. Magneto - battery option is interesting.

Nice mix of old finds. Congrats!

Yes, you're right. Unfortunately, Mud Hut beat you to it! But thank you all the same.

Does anyone happen to recognize that riffle casing? I think its a rifle casing, and there is no headstamp, but it kind of looks like an all brass little shotgun shell at the end, like a .410? And if you need more photos, let me know and Ill find the calipers.

The casing is a 45-70. Some of the earlier ones had no date or armory information on them.

Oh yaa?
Well, one of these days I'll get a solve in before Mud Hut....
(Then I'll only be a few hundred behind.:laughing7:)

Close I think. Its a little small for a 45.70 though. Ill show you some more photos, but it will be a minute or two.

Heres some more photos.

The casing on the far left is one of those benet primed casings from the 1870s. The one in the center is from 1882 and the one at the far right is the casing in question. Thanks for looking

Hi, new member here. I just found a similar "Alamo Brand" button, and am having trouble pinning down its history. Besides what you posted about its age, can you link me to any more info? Did it come off clothing, or some other item? Thanks! -Larry Ward

Nice finds Pueblo. If you did not know it, your date nails 31 and 27 are telephone pole inspection spike nails. The polls were inspected in 1927 and 1931. Nice finds.
