Hello Everyone,
This was found by a friend while searching around in NY state. It was found on a bridge. It is bolted to the span itself. My best guess so far is possibly a schematic for bridge bearings. It would explain the fulcrums, but not the connecting links. Plus the one item on the left side, mid way, that is "attached" to one of the "levers" is throwing me off. Has anyone ever seen anything like this.

thanks in advance
Beagle

In looking at it again I wonder if it has any thing to do with the bridge? Notice the dimensions top and bottom are the same the middle ones are different.
I'm thinking its from or for a crane as in hoisting points related to the set up of the crane it self ? HH

Makes some sense but yet it's attached to the bridge. Going with the crane idea, maybe instructions for transport or assembly of the bridge, using a crane?

Holy better late than never huh? Anyways, yes it was ID'ed. The 'bridge' was actually the deck of a rail car used for the bridge. That is the 'brake linkage' schematic for that train car.
Thanks very much for the follow up info on this find HMS.

This thread is 10 years old.
It seems like a case of what's old is new again type thingy.
Though it was the OP replying after nearly 10 yrs.
So better late than sorry type thing.

btw- I think your first guess is on the right track, some sort of assembly schematic. I saw something similar researching the Silver Bridge collapse but can't find it right now.
I thought the Mothman was responsible for the Silver bridge collapsing 😉

This may be a record for a delayed answer to a question on this site.

At any rate, thanks for the follow-up HMS Beagle. This has been gnawing at me for 10 years! :laughing7:

This took longer to solve than the infamous "E button". Or at least longer to reply. But I'll admit, I didn't lose any sleep on this one...
