Earlier this week find.. can?t put a i.d.on it.
Oblique flaking on one side.the other random.
Base damage.. elliptical cross section? roughly 3?

Thats the third one he has found up there that looks cody related but certainly not scottsbluff. I'm leaning Alberta but the stem should be more robust.
 

Looks more or less flat in the center cross section. Strange it would have intricate diagonal flaking on one side and random on the other. Looks like the base was repaired at one time.
I have a point with a base that is similar to that. The stubby wide Stem Doesn?t fit any type I know of and the steep crude edge work along the bottom could be evidence of a repaired snapped base.
If I had to guess, I?d say it was a salvaged knife that made it into hands of a new owner living in a later time period.

Good call MA, I saw a pic once of a Clovis that later had been notched by its new owner.

Here?s the point I found several years back that gives me a similar impression of having been salvaged. I believe it?s made of Normanskill Chert. Which would have (at least the material) relocated from Northeastern NY to eastern MA, about 200 miles.

That looks like a Benton / Elk River. I’ve found them with nearly identical parallel oblique flaking. Cool piece.
