I found a bracelet, when I pulled it out it looked like red brass. I gave it a rinse and it looked better but not real good, it looked like gold plated junk jewelry. I throw it in the bag with the clad and go back to detecting. When I get home all the clad and junk jewelry go into a conifer salt bath, a couple hours later I pulled out the bracelet and its starting to look good. I got out a jeweler cloth and started buffing. I took it to a pawn shop where I could get it tested and it tested 10k. No the pawn shop didn't get it. Lol happy hunting

I always thought gold couldn't tarnish, but again who's to say the red stuff was tarnish. It's 14.5 grams so I'm happy and yup it fits. Happy hunting

Gold can't tarnish, but the metal that is mixed with low Karat gold can. So that's why 10k or 9k tends to change funky colors.... 18k and 24k will never tarnish cause its more pure.
Keep @ it and HH !!
