Ridge and Valley chert

Once in a while I find a beauty. It’s been quite a while since I found this one.
I’ve only found 2 green and black points in over 12 years. The sun is out but creeks still high.

No idea where it’s from as far as nodules. I’ve yet to find anything in raw form except quartz and solid black chert. And not much of the chert big enough to knap. I did one time find a creek that had slabs of the Knox chert and sent some of it to a guy who knaps and he said it was hard to work. I’ve only found one other green and black but not this glossy. Lots of trading in my area

that is because most point that are not "field grade" are modern

I still find some good ones once in a while in the creeks and fields if they turn them. FB does have a lot of fakes posted as real especially the guys selling them. They come back and say how nice they are knowing that they are fakes. There is a group of people that do it.
