Drove by the loaded site from last week and noticed that a tractor was brush hogging the section of field I had wanted to hit but was over grown. Still looking for the mid 1800’s site, found some clues, but mostly turn of the century finds again. 12 IHPS including this weeks 1875 beauty and still not a silver coin very strange, but a silver knife handle and what I believe is a silver mini picture holder.

Nice haul. Congrats.

It's hard to tell from your image but that 1875 might be the variety listed in this thread about an 1875 Indian cent.
Here's the link. 1875 Dot Indian cent

Or this link which has some decent images.
1875 IndianCent, Dot Variety

There was a story that the US mint suspected an employee of pilfering cents so they marked one of the dies on the top left of the N (ONE). Every coin made by that die would have the dot on the N. It looks like you have something on your coin in that location but I cant really tell.

It would be neat if it was.

I would say from the amount and quality of finds that you are literally right on the site, well at least within 50 yards of where the house stood.

There were 2 sites I researched that existed in this park field. One shows up on the 1910 map, near the road. Definitely the highest concentration of finds up here, no foundation or cellar hole, but plenty of big iron. The other site was on the 1870 map and the name is a fairly prominent early settler. This hand drawn map shows the homesite some distance from the road. This is the site I’m after, usually know I’m on it when flat buttons start popping, but not a single flat button yet, so has me thinking I need to explore out more. Thx

Nice finds and site Thad.

Not as old as you like but definitely some nice stuff.

Give me a holler if you need more footwork and machines out there.

Sunday early mornings im out hunting alone most of the time anyways.
