Good ID hunting dog, but what you show is not a "level wind" reel and the plate is likely not from a level wind reel either. A level wind reel has a mechanism to assure that the line is mechanically wound level on the spool rather than having to level it by hand as one cranks in the line. This type of reel is properly known as a "revolving spool" or "conventional" reel. Spinning reels are "fixed spool" reels. One never finds level wind mechanisms on the myriad of inexpensive small reels made pre-WW2 but level wind mechanisms are more prevalent on post war reels. The added expense of a level wind mechanism made reels with one a bit pricier than those without, and until recently level wind mechanisms weren't provided on salt water reels due to salt accumulation fouling the level wind mechanisms.
