Looks like a GR and with the buttons and musket balls, I think it could date to the War of 1812. What does the back look like? But I'm no expert on Canadian insignia. Really nice find :thumbsup:

Pic of back added… mine has quite thick attachments compared with the ones on line? (Circled in yellow) hence Unsure of date! 🤔

Managed a quick swing this evening and up popped this Royal Engineers badge.. not sure of the date yet, still checking, plus the usual buttons and musket balls and a piece of metal pot maybe?

Found some pottery on the surface and nearly tripped over this big ole square of iron, so brought it home, because all metal matters 😆 x

I noticed the roman numeral V in the center of the GR...that denotes King George the fifth so the badge will date to the time around WWll

Neat find...keep them coming Blossom!

Found one recently, George V covers WWI period better not WWII.(he finished in 1936)
