I believe that is a leather strap end that went on a locking suitcase, or coach bag.. or something of that nature.

I believe that is a leather strap end that went on a locking suitcase, or coach bag.. or something of that nature.
I'd think so too, hence the direction the U shape is on the back, tension would pull it up.
