Since all of you have been helping me out with my posts I really have appreciated it alot!! I was wondering about the safety issue concerning carbon monoxide poisoning? Did you hear of anyone using a hookah under normal conditions getting sick from exhaust? Just curious because the engine is right there and and the exhaust is coming out from it. I've been doing research on the net and saw some 12V hookah units that uses batteries. How good are they? Any help about this topic is much appreciated!! ;D

Use a riser on the air intake. 2 or 3 feet is plenty. The exhaust from your motor goes in one direction, the air intake in another. I used to use it with a gas motor all the time in dredging, never had a problem. Never tried electric.

Most of the gas rigs that I have seen have either risers, or ententions on the intake. Like jeffro said, exhaust goes one way, intake is from another... and they are usually pretty far apart.

As for the safety issues, you have to remember that the companies that make them do it as safely as humanly possible. They do not want to get sued because a $2 riser wasn't installed. The activity may be dangerous, or have the elements of danger to it, but the machines are safe
