Hit two parks in San Francisco today. The first park yielded only one 1964 rosie dime after about two hours worth of hunting and about $3.00 in clad. I decided to drive across the city and try another park where I had found silver before and scored two more silver coins. The silver quarter is a 1939-D, the merc dime is a 1917-S. The small gold ring was a foil reading on top of a gopher mound! The sterling ring was about 4 inches deep. Of the 5 wheats the oldest is a 1937. My total clad take out was a little over $9.00. Who said the parks were hunted out? No way!

WOW ~ you did great man! Awesome finds!

My family and I were down that way on vacation last June ~ I tried going detecting at Golden Gate park, but I didn't do so good. We might be headed down there again this summer some time. Hopefully I can find a place to hunt!

Take care!
Neil

No permit needed. About 100 parks to hunt in. Just don't get caught in the Presidio ( a former US Army base, and Spanish fort from the 1700's) It's loaded with seated, barbers, and military relics. But you may end up in jail if you get caught in there! :'(

Nice haul for a day Mike :headbang:

Were you using your CZ, and if so which coil?

I have a CZ70, great machine, it's as deep as the F75 LTD.

Brian

Just using the standard 8 inch. I probably need to break out my 10" coil and give it another try. I tried using the 10" a couple of years ago in SF and noticed it's alot more sensitive to iron? Surface iron was ID'ing as a good coin signals. What is your experience with a large coil on the CZ70?
