I'm moving to Sebring, FL from Vero Beach, FL. Sebring has plenty of freshwater lakes but beaches are primarily out of my searching area for now. How does the sand shark perform in freshwater and dry land? Should I invest in a different detector or will it be ok?

The SandShark is primarily a saltwater only specialty detector. The Tiger Shark is a awesome freshwater detector.I would not recommend even trying the pi Sand Shark on dry land. The Sand Shark is pretty much limited to salt, but i have one and it does well but would not try it anywhere else because it will detector every small bit of metal in the ground.

Thanks!

I use my Sand Shark in Farm Fields all the time. A Pulse Induction machine works anywhere, but does not discriminate so you dig EVERYTHING - DEEP!

Thanks Terry. Figured it'll work everywhere but like u said I'll be digging EVERYTHING

Terry,

Obviously that is a nugget hunt (AZ?) pictured. What kind of settings would you use for the SS? I have a vacation rental home in Lake Havasu, AZ that I could base from to prospect gold.

We tested it in Arizona against the TDI, Infinium, and the Dual Field. Use it in Normal mode and set your pulse width to about 3/4 power (2-230pm position). You will be better off hunting gold in your area with a good VLF like the Tesoro Lobo Super Traq; Fisher Goldbug; or Whites GMT.

I use my GP Extreme for relic hunting now n then, Terry is right on they go DEEP lol.. I pulled a horseshoe out of a 2 foot hole... huge pain in the ass..
