SE vs. SE Pro, what's the difference ??

I am finally coming into some money, and I am getting my minelab. The ol' cortez has been good to me, but I need some more of that seated silver. My question is, what are the differences between the SE and the SE Pro(other than a few hundred dollars). I am definately going with one or the other and would appreciate some feedback before I spend this kind of money. Any and all help is appreciated.

Just the coil but they seems worlds apart.

I was also wondering about this.

Are you saying the Pro is superior to the SE?

If so, in what way(s)?

From what I've read (many posts) the slimline seemed to be noisy as possibly a result of only being single wrapped internally. The SE pro has addressed the issue and seems to be doing very well... again from the posts I've read.

Iron Patch is dead-on-right!
The only difference in the two models is the coil.
I called Minelab Las Vegas; getting that response to my inquisitive question. :)

You'll definitely want Minelab's new PRO coil. The coil alone will set you back two hundred bucks.
However, I like a lot of other people managed to find a ton of good stuff with the SlimLine coils.

One idea for you:
Be sure to negotiate a TALL MAN'S lower rod into the deal; you'll thank me later. :)
And, a SunRay X-1 inlign probe.

Good luck!

Just a thought here....

If you plan on buying the SE PRO, it might be wise to order the old SE for $995 or whatever it is and then buy the PRO coil separate for the other $198 shipped.

That way you could put the PRO coil on your new SE and have a backup coil to sell or keep just in case you damage your PRO coil.

I just ordered the new PRO coil for my XS and can't wait for it to get here.

I am thinking of doing this, but I wont have the money until Aug 8th. So if they still have the SE then I will do it, if not I will just get the PRO.
