Checked out around an old school today. There were coins everywhere but no silver. Guess someone had come in and dug the high numbers. But left a lot of wheats including a 1910. Found an old 4 hole button and a Plant System button. I had no idea what that meant but after researching, Henry Plant had railroads in north Florida and south Georgia and called it the "Plant System ". From 1882-1902. This article is about a similar button I found searching the net. Second oldest button I've found. We have two types of soil in Florida that I've ran into since detecting. The dark acidic moist soil which eats up copper coins and brass buttons like these and sandy dry soil where pennies come out not to bad.

Nice button. First one I've seen on here. My philosophy is where there are wheaties, there is silver. Don't give up:thumbsup:

Nice score with the Railroad button! Love the Railroad stuff. It's interesting the the old New York & New England had a looking similar cross.
