Couldn't believe I found this at a garage sale!!! The letter B dates it to 1755. Can't wait to research the marks. I'll have to post a picture of the bottom! You never know what's out there!!
Thank you all for the posts. Here are the marks on the bottom. One is for the Guilder and and one is for the artist, I'm not sure about the other one. It will be a fun one to research!!!

Turns out it is a fake made around the turn of the century. Oh well, it will look nice in my little store. Thanks again for the posts
I'm not sure you can really label it a deceptive fake. It's more of a replica or period revival piece imo. It still took a great deal of skill to produce it such a beautiful piece and years to add the wonderful patina on the metal work. It will definitely catch the eye of some shopper of antiques who happens to wonder into your shop.

I agree. I knew it wasn't from the 18th Century but was waiting for the marks to be posted in full before I ventured a comment. Pieces signed by A, Daret as the decorator exhibit considerable artistry and are generally attributed to the third quarter of the 19th Century or thereabouts.

They have a value of their own but are more desirable as pairs. I've seen nice ones go for a couple of hundred pounds (for the pair).

Really pretty regardless. Turn of the century is Antique in my book! And somebody would definitely pay for those - even just for decorative value.
