Hello All,

Went out for an afternoon and managed to scratch up a tacoed 1853-O w/arrows half dime. Was very pleased to have one more to add to our totals. The most we've ever had in a year was 44 silvers down here amongst my team and I (with over half being Reales!). It would take a bit of luck for us to make four silvers in 10 days, so I don't know that we will break our record but it was worth a shot. At any rate, it will still be an amazing year for us no matter what, and I'm looking forward to our year-end post.

The big piece I thought might be a copper sabot from a shell but alas it is not. Was nice to get two tap keys in one hunt, but otherwise fairly lackluster except for the Seated :)

Buck - Keep at it! Tough that it got taco'd. Looks like a harrow blade clipped it. Oh well, the plow can be a friend and a foe, but overall it's a blessing for detectorist.

Your "lack luster" is equal to my "really sweet"!

I see a clay marble in there. Congrats on a nice little hunt. Excellent seated coin too.

I hope that you and your family have a nice holiday.

That's true! Hard to believe that we were going through 70-80 sites per year in Kentucky when I lived there, because they were no-till farmed and generally small log cabins. Here we add perhaps 1-2 sites per year to our list, and the old ones get plowed!

Best wishes,

Buck

I was actually quite pleased with the clear, faceted bead. I've never found a clear glass one, probably because they're harder to see than a colored one is.

I think another digging marathon is in order, to try for a couple more silvers and good relics before the year's end.

Happy Holidays to you and yours, Tom!

Nice saves! What is a tap key for? The one looks similar to the keys the used for winding old clocks.
