I went to a few rural parking lots recently. 1-1/2” to 2” gravel on them and about 4” to 6” deep. This isn’t loose gravel than can be picked off. It is hard packed from years of vehicle traffic. I get fantastic ID numbers when I sweep over them. Is there a trick to getting through rock like that? My trowel has no chance and a full-sized shovel wasn’t much better. I don’t want to damage the lot and give MDing a bad name. I’m guessing just use a stout shovel, but will listen to ideas. Thanks
