Silver BC. Denarius

Back on the thimble field from last sunday and it was more quality than quantity again. Some bits 'n pieces with another thimble but way younger than the last. Only one Roman coin but it's an oldie! Thanks for the ID Crusader, i was completely lost with nothing left of the circumscription. Only other roman find was a vulva leather mount. For me it was a great day out with a buddy and some nice finds. :hello2:

Correct ID by Crusader below. :notworthy: Can't edit the title, so sorry for that. May a mod can change that for me. Thanks!

Good ID Cru !
Here's another pic (although the obverse appears different):

Don.......

It only 'appears' different because of wear & 2 blobs/defects in the coin. There is also a globe shaped defect on the reverse. These 'blow-outs' could be caused by a copper-core, or other issues.

Congratulations. That's a wonderful find. I love the history that is available for the hunters in Europe. Thank you for sharing this special find with us.

Yes, these defects are more imperfections. They look more like a die error than a defect caused by a corroded copper core. :dontknow:

Ho Hum. Another old silver coin. I don't know why you never find anything interesting. Better luck next time.
