Now that I have that out of the way, if the weight is right, they are indeed clad.

When the sheet stock is punched, the cupro-nickel layer can easily smear over the copper center layer of the blank, also called the planchette. This is normal and occurs far more often than many realize. While not intended, because this occurs somewhat regularly, it is not considered an error.

Time for more coffee.
