I went back to a permission from my water system installer. I found a walking half and an Indian head penny in the past so I was hoping for some more goodies. The yard has a lot of trash including whole aluminum cans and a load of beaver tail tabs.
This trip was again loaded with beaver tail tabs and a lot of iron signals. In my 5 hours with the CZ21 I did manage to find 34 coins with a face value of $0.89, a Lustre Cream jar from the 50s, a few milk bottle caps from one of the local dairies in town, an old valve stem cover, 2 wheaties, an odd handle of some kind and a little silver ring (plus the junk).
The wheaties are a 1945 and 1946. They are in decent shape for a change. The silver ring is a small child size ring. It is marked STERLING and has a makers mark I can’t find on line. I know someone out there has a better list of makers than I do so help with the maker and possibly a date range would be greatly appreciated.
I took my weekly trip to the scout camp and continued on the site I started last time. I did it pretty well several years ago, but you never get it all and the scouts keep using and losing so you never know. In 6 hours with the CZ21 I found 107 coins with a face value of $10.47, 35 camp tent pegs, a bunch of sinkers, a cheap carabiner, fishing gear, 2 belt hooks for pocket knives, 2 mess kit wing nuts, 2 rope tensioners, 2 bolo tie ends, a squashed penny, 3 year pins (1, 3, 5), a Canadian dime, 3 bullets, a mini mag light, tabs, foil and melted aluminum.
The 2 bullets on the left are an older type and have a heavy crust that tells me they predate the camp. Not civil war old, but way before 1980 when the camp opened.
A little more silver for the pile and the clad keeps piling up. Any hunt with silver is a good one. Thanks for looking, stay safe, good luck, and may your coil lead you to good things.
