I found this last summer while searching at a park. I know it is from a silverware set, but don't what it was used for. I had been out searching for silver coins and It had gotten too dark to see, so I was headed back to the truck. I put the coil down close to the ground and was walking a straight line to the truck. I got a strong silver signal, so I stopped, pinpointed it and dug down a few inches. It popped out and looked like a rusted piece of metal. I put in my pocket and headed home. At home I started washing it and could tell it was some sort of silverware piece with a "R" monogramed on it. It must have been in the ground for a long time, I got some silver polish and and a toothbrush and cleaned and cleaned and cleaned some more. It was tough to get it as clean as it it is in the pictures. Most of the tarnish is gone but some still remains. Does anyone know what it was used for and maybe the age? Thanks for any info.

I was not sure if it was a R or B. I was hoping someone could tell me what it was used for. Maybe someone with see it and know. Thanks.
