i thought that at first too until I read du pont, far as I know they didn't make saws. Did lots with gunpowder and blowing stuff up, along with a wide range of other things.

they were founded in 1802 and started off making gun powder, then added on blasting powder, nitroglycerin, blasting caps and so on. As time went on they moved into many areas including chemical production, polymers, synthetic fabrics, and the list goes on and on. Judging from the style of your piece a wild guess is it was mid/late 1800s to early 1900s. DuPont was rapidly expanding and very busy at that time so it is hard for me to make guess in what direction to look.

no problem, my grandfather actually worked for them at one point blowing stuff up. Dupont is the one who made the mint blanks for clad coins. From what I understand he was on the research team for the process. They took sheets of metal down into old mines and painted them with plastic explosives. One big boom later and 3 sheets of metal became one.

That's cool stuff. Seems like it was an interesting company. Would make sense with my states history and the area.
