I can tell from the edges that its not very old. Roman's had snake rings but they looked nothing like that.
 

I come from the Isle of Man no Romans ever came here it was found very close to a Viking hoard

The Vikings or settled Anglo-Sandinavian had nothing like this either. Sorry

PS. if you found a coke can next to the Viking hoard would that be Viking as well? Context is only important in sealed Archaeological layers.

No real need under the terms of the Treasure Act, but if they want to know the offical answer, your right to point to the local FLO.
