Quite possibly my best find here and by far the most gold I have ever found. This was believed to be GF? I have no idea and am not complaining because it was $40. It is all original and runs but the movement is in for a service currently. With the movement out the case weighs 44 grams deducting some grams for the extra pieces inside of it I believe i have 40 grams of 14k. Made in 1920 and is caliber 386, size 16s, double cased hunter. The case maker is Brooklyn Watch Case Co. Such a shame so many of these have been scrapped throughout time!

Nice! I believe it is gold filled though.. that word warranted means for a certain time it’s covered in gold. I’m probably wrong, but I think I was fooled by it a couple years ago... but paid $350... best to have it tested. And I hope I’m wrong...

Fortunately in this case I am familiar with BWC Co. markings and knew immediately it is solid... https://pocketwatchdatabase.com/guide/case-companies/brooklyn-watch-case-co
I had it tested as well just to confirm and it just looks like solid gold. I have seen many GF pocket watches and when holding this piece it really stands out with no metal wearing though or anything.

That's a great find. I looked up the phrase warranted to assay, and the consensus is that signifies solid gold. If it only says warranted 14K, it indicates gold filled. Congrats.

Beautiful watch and excellent looking condition. Without the signified years of being warranted I'm not sure, but would think it means it'll never wear off the gold fill layer. Solid gold would make better sense to me... Great score either way

I thought the gold filled said ‘30 year 14k’

Such an epic score!

The key is “Assay”. In my experience, that will mean solid in most cases. And for $40...I would still take a chance on it!

You guys are all correct. This is solid gold. When the word warranted is used is will have the amount of years it is waranteed not to rub trough the gold filled casing e.g. Waranteed 20 yrs
Ray Gelder is spot on The word Assay is a very good thing to find in a pocket watch It will always signify solid metal. Excellent score friend
