Another beautiful sunny day yesterday, so I had to take advantage of that. I drove out to a place where I often find some pretty good points. It's kind of a crap shoot because the points from this spot can be pretty nice, but it's sandy and there's no way to know if the wind has covered up, or exposed things. Also, it's a LONG drive. Indeed, most of the day is spent behind the wheel to get there.

It looked more covered up than usual when I got there and I figured that I probably wouldn't find anything. I had limited daylight so I just put my head down and searched.

First was this pretty little red rose spring point.

Followed by a couple of shell beads, and then this brownish-red chert knife.

Then, a couple more beads, a couple of preforms, then this nice little drill.

All in all, a pretty successful day, and the weather was perfect!

Both of the preforms were broken, and the halves lying fairly near each other.

Not sure what the little clay disk thing is. It had a hole in the middle and had protrusions sticking out on both sides, which were broke off. Clay items in the Great Basin are very rare, and I've only found one other clay item before, a broken pipe, and from this same site!

I don't know much about points, but that 1st one is a beauty and the others aren't too shabby either. Looks like it was worth the drive. Too bad you are not close to that spot.

Such cool finds. I wish the Equinox had a setting for points😄.
Right! I've been looking for artifacts since I was 10 and have been waiting my whole life for a stone artifact detector to be invented!
