Some type of brass Angel?

I found this last Saturday on a 1825 homesite. Anyone have any ideas on what it is?

Without knowing the size its hard to tell, but I will guess part of a door knocker.

It might also be an ornament from something like a clock, mirror/picture frame, or item of furniture.

As 72C notes, some indication of its actual size would help— along with a photo of the back as well.

swat, that's a beautiful find. It seems to have two screw holes? If the higher one is larger, it's possible that one might have once held a pendulum type of pull, where the entire deal may have been a drawer or cupboard pull.

Its about 9" long and looks like it was attached to a pole. That was taken from my phone but will add more from my digital camera. Oh... also found a 1906 merc dime and that will be included in pics.

Could it be from the top of a cleric's staff ?

I don't mean to correct you sir but, is it possible you have found a Charles "Barber" dime? Mercury dimes (winged liberty heads) were struck in 1916 and lasted till 1945..I think Just saying

it looks as if round spings may had or could had went arount the two spots on her waist
