I dug this up 2 years ago on my property. Have wondered if it was a hanger that attached to a wall. It is about a foot long. All iron and has the word (or maybe someone’s last name/ brand name) “CARVER” cut out of it. It has one attached enclosed swinging hanger. Has a place where another one went but it is missing. The very end looks bent and may have been fully enclosed at one time. There are 3 holes at the base where nails or screws would have held it in place. I wondered if it could also be the swivel thing that people had in old fireplaces that would swing out over the fire and could have held kettles. I have zero idea. any info would make my day!, thanks

As the Scott-Carver Threshers near Jordan, Minnesota, get
steamed up for their twentieth festival, their founder marvels at
their growth and progress.

Birth came to this group when Ernie Morrell suggested to his
nephew Ken Scott that they go out to the old farm place and fire up
grandpa’s engine. Like all good ideas, it grew and grew. Next
it was, ‘Why don’t we hook onto the old separator and
thresh some grain?’ Ernie never realized how that gem of an
idea would become the glistening jewel it is today.

that’s a lot of info- are you thinking the metal object I found is from a Scott-Carver thresher? Sorry, I am not sure what all that means

Just throwing it out there.
im also thinking it’s more likely off a farm implement than a sign hanger.

My first thought when I saw it was a leg to a treadle sewing machine, but I had never heard of a Carver sewing machine, but I didn't think of it being from another country and it seems William Carver treadle sewing machines are from England so it could be from a sewing machine leg.

All very good ideas. I wonder what the attached rings would have been for on a sewing machine? I will investigate! Thanks everyone for your ideas
