I found this yesterday in the middle of a farm field. The larger side is magnetic, but not very strongly magnetic. The smaller side is even weaker magnetic. This is what it looks like after sitting in evapo-rust for three days. It reminds me of a bull's head... or a vertebrae.... can anyone please tell me what this is?

Big metal blob.....at least until you can get the outer crust off it. I'd tap it with a hammer on one end to knock the crust off, and maybe get an idea if it's something more than just a hunk of scrap iron.

Her original post said it came from the middle of a farm field. Unless a building burned down out there, I doubt it's melted metal. Just rusty farm junk IMO.

Tractors break down in fields and sometimes parts need to be blow torched off resulting in melted metal in the fields. It happens a lot just ask a farmer, tractors don't break down in the shop. It normally happens out in the middle of a field somewhere just when it's getting ready to downpour. LOL been there a few times.
