I know this is an old thread, but I wonder if anyone has any more information on it? I can't find any other material about this at all besides this singular article in the Altoona Tribune.

The map in the Tribune looks almost more like nearby Nukutepipi than Anuanuraro.

I would not rely too much on news paper rendition of the island in question. What was on that island is in 'wet storage' amigo until the dysfunctional Polynesian government. Which is acting as autonomous region as a colony of France to make a competent decision on its own?

Since the 2023 election the ball is in now Oscar Manutahi Temaru hands. I have known him since 1993. Will it be his government seeking independence from France that will make a competent decision?

Until then it will only ever be reveled what was there and where it is now? Since they can't make competent decision? Until then It will be until hell freezes over before they will ever get to see what was there.
