Great weekend hunt at 2 very old farms in Central VA dating back to 1600s. Very little modern trash and these were the highlights. Love the spectacle buckle one of the best condition ones I have found and I believe dates to early 1600s? My 12th early silver this year and 4th VA halfpenny Penny, some nice unique buttons, never dug the star one before or the other design. The silver plate is very cool as it is from
The Jefferson hotel in Richmond VA and dates in the 1800s(perhaps a giveaway at a wedding or maybe guest room decor which they took!!) normally don’t get excited about spoons but I think this is an early one based on the mark but not sure. Not sure what the pewter decorative piece is off of. Quite a thrill to save all of these early relics.

A stellar hunt you had.
Congrats on the crisp cut silver.
The copper, and buttons are top shelf recoveries.

Nice finds. I doubt the silver plate was a “hotel giveaway.”I’d guess it was acquired via a different method.🦹‍♂️

Some cool finds there. The spoon isn't very old though. It's a Wm. Rogers' 1939 silverplate pattern variously known as Starlight / Claridge / Hostess.
I don’t know anything about spoons but the quick research I did showed it was early since Co was not at end of Rigers plus the star and eagle stamp but I have no idea other than that

The “[eagle] Wm. ROGERS [star]” mark was used on coin silver spoons between 1825-1841 and later as a brand on silverplate flatware produced by Simpson, Hall, Miller & Co between 1878-1893 (with permission from William Rogers Jr.). The same mark became the property of the International Silver Company in 1898, who subsequently used it as a trademark on silverplate flatware and hollowware between 1938-1976.

This is your pattern, also used by ISC with a ‘Stratford’ mark on silverplate:

Incredible hunt! Love the variety that's always found around farms. I can only dream about the 1600's. I know you said these are the highlights but wouldn't mind seeing the B list. Congrats...

Great finds! I am honestly surprised that there were no Civil War items found; did the houses burn before the 1860s?
