I could only find one that was definitely a spokeshave. Had some with impact fractures that could have been used as one but do not think they were. Cool tool not many seen on here. Like that crescent shaped one. I need to dig deeper and see if I have a few more. Good post.
The drag and drop is a

View attachment 1982858 View attachment 1982859 I'll toss an old point into the ring- a Kentucky Clovis point with a spoke shave. My guess would be the spoke shave is later work, not typical paleo tool usage.

Edit- wow the new picture posting feature, at least on my phone, is AMAZING! Resizing pictures so they fit has never been faster.
Yes the new software is nice, especially on smart devices.

Nice example and I think you are 100% correct. They repurposed everything, it's not like they had a 7-11 they could go buy from. The amount of work that goes into a point why throw away when they could rework it and use it again. Seen a lot of drills that were obviously point at one time but were broke and reused.

Some of my better Spokeshaves. All personal finds except for the top middle one in the tray and the black Coshocton Flint one. Both of those are flea market snatches.

What bugs me is Iā€™ll never get to see you all eat the crow. I guess I can live with it, only hurting myself by not posting.

I am fully aware of unifaceā€™s opinions.

You could put that in my hand and I would still stick with the fact that it is not an artifact. Donā€™t take offense to that because it is only our intention to help each other learn.

There was a field I used to hunt in the 70's, bout 1979 I think, that produced a plethora of these types of points, almost exclusively I found tool like spokeshave points. Virtually no other field I hunted in Missouri produced relics in that style, that abundantly.

here is one of my favorites from that fields frame.

The point is not broken but purposely flaked to form a tool with the small semicircle spokeshave.
