It has taken a while to get used to the Tejon but getting the hang of it. Man , its a beast ! Cut that sensitivity way back ! I got a signal today and I held the coil way way up off the ground and WOW ! , I could still hear the target.
I've seen opinions that it takes a 100 hours to really know a detector. In my own experience, I think there's some truth in that. Especially with the first detector as a rank beginner. After that, it comes quicker with the next machine(s).

The tejon is a amazing machine. I found a carved bullet others missed the other day in a 50 by 50 area at 10" deep. These machines once you learn them will absolutely blow you away. It loves lead and brass. It's definitely my go to machine.
I have dug silver dimes at least 7 inches with my Tejon before with a solid signal and Killer B's headphones. I'm sure it will go much deeper than that on a dime in good ground.
Quality headphones are a must with the Tejon to hear those really deep small targets. It loves nickels, lead and brass items. My Tejon is about 3 inches deeper than my Vaquero, so I traded my V.
All I can tell you is make sure you have a good digger and be prepared to dig, because you will be amazed at the depth of the Tejon. Also, ground balance it in the disc mode with the trigger switch held in, much easier
to ground balance in fast retune than the all metal slow retune mode........HH
I want my next detector to be a deeeep coin seeker. Although the frequency is not ideal for coins people say it is deep on coins. My only concern is that to get deep coins and avoid trash the disc setting needs to be turned up just shy of zinc penny and when turning the disc. up on a Tesoro you loose depth. So with that disc setting, I wonder is it still a deep machine?
All the above is true .
I've had my Tejon for around a year now & have been hitting CW sites and finding buttons and deeper relics I missed with my XLT.
The machine was acting up today And I still was digging deep relics .
