This is a sterling silver item that has kept me wondering
for a couple years now. This was purchased with a pile of
vintage jewelry from a retired jeweler that passed on.

The Buddah figure pulls up to reveal a glass vial inside,
there is evidence of burning to the underside of the Buddah
base. There is no smell to lead me to it's use.
The bottom is marked ".925" so it doesn't scream that it's
really old.

I get the mental picture of some ladies in the 1920's sitting
around the parlor getting a little giddy.

What do you think?

Is the glass vial removable?
It might be a vintage hash pipe. (60's)

Hello war,

Could you remove the glass, vial please, so that we may have a look at it.

I don't see any opium / hashish applications, myself. As my late mother would have said, "You guys are smoking too much."

Here's an opium lamp: View attachment 832710 How Collecting Opium Antiques Turned Me Into an Opium Addict | Collectors Weekly
Cannot remove the vial, the silver is securely clamped around the top of the vial. As Buddah is pulled up, the vial
rises to the top and exposes the top of the vial wrapped in silver. Definately looks burned.
