Strange find in cent roll

Hi all. I was searching cwr today and I found this cent sized brass ( I think ) object which looks to be some kind of church item. Any ideas?

It's completely flat and smooth. Like it was somehow supposed to be stuck/attached to something.

Take it to a Mardels or some christian store, see if they know what it is =)
