I've been racking my brains out trying to research the date code from this Reed Howdy soda bottle. The base states, "STARK SPGS W. MILAN, NH A 873 1". Is it 1931 or 1941? Thanks.

Thank you for this article. For some reason, it didn't pop up during my research. I guess I was focused on the Reed bottling company.

I see that your bottle shows, "Stark Springs W Milan NH" embossed on the bottom, not St Louis, MO like the article indicates.

Stark Springs is a water bottling company out of W Milan, New Hampshire.

How does a Howdy bottle have this embossed on the bottom?

There might be some information in this book...
