Today we wanted to go to a possible Roman site on our permission.. but it still has stubble on it.. but Himself wants that Roman 😬 .. so we gave it a go! He found a hammered .. no id yet?! Usual buttons, lead bits, and possible Roman bits?? 🤔 We def need to go back to do it properly when there is no stubble 😆 xx

All excellent finds AGAIN. I read somewhere recently that lead was sometimes rolled into a pencil, or stylus if you prefer, to write on slate. Find anything like that?

I can't tell if you have pictured 2 or 3 broken Fibula (Brooches) from the 1st C AD Roman period. Nice indication of an early start to the site.

You have an Edward I Sterling Imitation Penny, read about them & maybe ID it on here;
(you need most the letter on the Obverse legend to ID it fully, but it will have been produced in France/Low Countries)

Great finds in my book, Blossom. LOL, your thread title reminded me of these old Burma Shave signs at the Charleston, SC Museum.
