Hello everyone. My name is Tyler and eye find all kinds of stuff and I just can't stop. I actually joined months ago but never properly introduced myself. I'm a single dad and love to collect and explore. I took a bit of a hiatus from treasurenet. I spent the summer with my son and he just started kindergarten. I'm back and will be posting again more frequently. Speaking of finds... I got something and I just finished it.

The suicided ground hog. I was looking around this old early 1920s barn. I rounded the back corner and was hit with a heavy stench. I knew the smell. It was death. I focused my attention on the odor to locate what had died. Wasnt long before I found it. It was a dead groundhog. An odd looking one at that. Its teeth were strange and abnormally long. They seemed to curl as well. Interested I took note and went on my way. I came back month's later. Nature did its job. I retrieved the skull of the animal and took it home to be bleached. I reconstructed the skull and this is what I found... look for yourself.

Welcome Back Tyler! You didn't list your state (or country) in your profile. So, you might consider jumping over to Sub-Forum: Select Your Area.... for information (i.e., clubs, hunts, finds, legends, maps, etc.) directly related to your state (or country).
Thanks vpnavy. I will fix that. I'm from Waynesboro, PA and thanks for the info.

Multiple rodents have teeth that never stop growing. Beaver are an example. And your woodchuck...
Constant gnawing wears them down. Not gnawing enough = your specimen.
Maybe it fed on clover almost exclusively or something (?) Or another soft browse.

This guy was a gem so I adorned him as such. Unheated white onyx covering the tooth that pierced his skull. Two tigers eye spheres for his eyes. Fossil shark teeth for his ears. Red agate carved owl for his tongue. Have petrified wood in its mouth as well. One nice bismuth crystal for his nose. No glue. Can all be removed as everything was selected to fit perfectly. This woodchuck was treated well after I'm sure it suffered a horrible demise. Hope you like it.
