So, our favorite park is off limits due to Holiday stuff so we have had to look in some other parks. We went a few hours last weekend and wasn't impressed with our finds. A lot of clad and can slaw. This afternoon we went into the woods adjacent to a park as an old map showed a trail. Found some old iron and Bob found a nice Rosie but nothing we hoped for. The creepy mask briefly startled me. We checked around the park on the way out and Bob found our first hem weight. Yay! So we headed home and cleaned out our bags. That's when we got a cool surprise. I turned over the scout slide I found to go get the dirt out and WOW! Is that a coin peaking out? It is packed with coins! It had a Rosie, 4 wheats and a memorial. All 50s but a 1917 wheat. What an unexpectedly nice end to the day!! Not so much for the kid that lost it back then.... Have a great tomorrow!!

Very interesting find in the Scout slide. Almost like it was buried that way. For you and other of our T-Net friends, always check the 1917 wheats closely for the obverse doubled die variety. Here's a link that has a magnifier that you can slide over the picture that says:
"Doubling at date & motto". You can clearly see the doubling with the magnifier. Doesn't look like yours has it but for future reference see link.
Nice finds & happy holiday season hunting !!!
