Re: Tesoro sand shark?

Hi Randy my mate has been using one for the last 2 years, good detector he has had great success with it, well made, good battery life and you can change coils yourself instead of sending it back to the factory to do it.

Randy, I have a Tiger Shark and the Clean Sweep Coil for it also. The Tiger Shark is a great machine for fresh or salt water since it has a Salt Mode that works well too. I have found thin gold chains with it as it is that sensitive if you use as little discrimination as possible. While I mainly use the Excalibur 1000 in the water because of it's different tones, I can skip all the coins and just scoop up the rings and pull tabs. More ground covered=more goodies.

This brings us to the 18 X 3" Clean Sweep Coil. At detecting a huge beach it covers a huge piece of ground per sweep and it is hot along it's whole length. Pinpointing is done off the front edge or back edge and it's easy. However the coil doesn't reach as deep as the Excal. and only gets about 7 inches which is more than good enough for dry sand after a busy day. This means you won't waste time in recovery and can move on to sweep more area.

The only thing I don't like is that the batteries are in with the guts and you have to be careful to seal it up well again so it won't leak. Thankfully it has a long battery life. It's hip mountable too and being a Tesoro, has a LIFETIME WARANTY. Buy it and you won't be sorry........

Thanks guys, that is what I was hoping you would say!!

Thanks again, Randy

Sandman is 100% correct. HE is the reason I have one, and after a couple of months I feel that it still was the right machine for me. It is WAY sensitive, and on one occasion I was testing it against my 1350 it picked up a .22 shell casing 11" (measured) in a wet sandy river bottom, the 1350 wouldn't get a hit no matter what I tried. Get it you will like it, BUT you will have to learn the tones and what it is trying to tell you. I am still learning.
