Texas Cavalier Token

[Third Wave]

I finally found something worth posting.

It's a token from the Texas Cavalier's to commemorate King Antonio XXX.
It was found on an abandoned lot in the Alamo Heights area of San Antonio.

1952.

Pretty cool, well, it is to me anyways. It's the first non clad-non trash I've found.

Pretty cool, well, it is to me anyways. It's the first non clad coin I've found.

I hate to be the one to mention it, but this technically isn't considered a coin, it's a token or medallion.

But, to be honest, I like to find these more than coins, clad or otherwise. They're a whole lot more unique, usually made on a much smaller scale, and they always have an interesting story behind them. Great job!!

Cool Token find!

My buddy lives in Alamo Heights, very cool parks and there are some old trees and structures around that area as well to check out.

I remember back in the 1950's in elementary school they would give out those tokens at the beginning of Fiesta Week. They are all made of aluminum but a couple of years ago when they drain the small pond a Woodlawn lake I found one made of yellowish material that didn't corrode like the silver coins found that same day in that mud.
