✅ SOLVED Textured Plastic Fragment

Hello everyone,

I think this one might be a long shot, but I figured it was worth trying!

I found this unusual textured item that I am pretty sure is made out of plastic. It was surface find that I picked up simply to throw away as trash while detecting at the reservoir swim beach, but I was a little curious of what it may have been first.

Any ideas?

My guess would be a piece of a grip, off of...something.

That is a sole portion of a tennis shoe, the part that is forming the sides.

I think it is from a pair of tennis shoes the side, not the sole, or a pair deck shoes.

I think villagenut is correct about it being the side of a shoe sole. And I think back-of-the-boat is right about the type of shoe.

Wow you guys are good! It's definitely thinner and and less flexible than shoe sole material, but I think that is just from it being weathered over time.

Thank you guys so much. It was really interesting finding out what it is, even though it is just trash and I'll probably throw it away. I think you are exactly right with what it is.
