The cold is finally here & the ground was frozen to about 3 inches.
We were fairly sure that we were due some payback & thought the Silver Streak might end today. The morning session of 2.5 hrs produced no silver, & the hammered I got didn't come until about an hour after Lunch. Then I got the Roman Silver whilst wandering past the turn-a-round flag waiting for Cru'dad to catch up. If that wasn't lucky enough I decided to do a short wander on The Track-Way Site before doing our last run of the day, this little diversion got me the Sceat! So the craziness continues for now....

Another great day of hunting, well done.
I would of thought you'd have lots of the Commonwealth hammered in your collection.
The poor guys head had a lobotomy.

The year of the Sceats! I love to see them! Crazy....:hello2:
I remember you said long ago two of them is a good year....

Incredible finds your making! Good luck on your next outing!

I always love the marvelous finds you 2 are making across the pond, but you are having a remarkable series of hunts. The history you are recovering is fabulous. The LIKE button is not good enough for these it should be LOVE. May your super luck continue. Stay safe, good luck and keep swingin.

Yeap, now on a Record 9 Sceats! After over 15 years of none, I thought these things impossible to find. I remember doing a long journey just in the hope of 1. What is helping, as these are very spread out is the massive area we are gridding to get them. (Although this one was a flukey one!)

The denarius....render unto Caesar what is Caesar's coin? Ah, I see it in your post...

Great recoveries!

Great finds, as usual. Could the Tiberius denarius be a fouree? It almost looks like an outer sliver surface has been crushed down into a base metal core. Or is that just how it photographs? I've never seen an ancient silver damaged in that way except for contemporary forgeries. A great find either way but might even be more interesting as a fouree.

Yes, it might be a fouree. It doesn't have a clear copper-core like some, so might be a badly cast example.

What is the octagon shaped item with 1670 on it?
