I found this ring in West Virginia. It has writing on the inside as well as the outside. I would love to know anything about it. It was found in the front yard of a 100 year old farm house.
I’m new to metal detecting and this is one of my first finds. Using an Equinox 800.

There is chip in it, letting on its plated. It sure looks like a copy of the rings used in "The Lord of the Rings" movie. They were quite popular.

It is plated, but not in elvish. The house has been in the family for over 100 years and I'm probably the only nerd that would have even been interested in a Lord of the Rings reproduction. I've also looked up that ring and the words don't match. I would love to know the language.

Welcome to Tnet

You say that the inscription does not match the Elvish on modern LOTR items but in fact it matches exactly if you have it the right way up... as below:

LOTR.jpg

Take the rune with the scrolled curly bottom as the reference point... centre of your ring, and about three-quarters of the way across on the example I have shown.

A cheap piece of memorabilia for enthusiasts, I'm afraid.
