THE Random Chat Thread - AKA "The RCT" - No shirt or shoes required - Open 24 / 7

Nobody knows Bill Gates and even if they did, he doesn't do tech support.

I don't know why you're trolling with these "tech" questions. Android is linux, and five seconds on a search engine would tell you that. Apple Webkit is a toolkit used by a slew of apps, which again, a search engine would tell you immediately, no need to bother Mr. Gates. As for what apps are installed, if you got it at Best Buy, there's probably a ton of stuff on it ("value added", they'd say. Bloatware, I'd say.).
Trolling you ? You know this just happens to be the random chat thread right ?
There's no need for rudeness and quite frankly if you knew how this thread started you'd know that rudeness is not necessary or accepted.
As a matter of fact so I'm at it in this that same kind of rudeness is what ran Uncle Bill off or Bill from Lachine that is.

Yes Crispin's Critters. Bill from Lachine is no longer with us R.I.P.

In case anyone is confused... or 2 day bender.... held captive.... etc.
And it is morning somewhere!

Sir!
A 1915 largie isn't really an itch scratching recovery. 🤣
Ha ha. I didn't post this earlier today after writing it.
Ahh well.
Had a link to source I quoted at the end , but that must have flown away...

A pre 65 coin here and I'm happy.
Though when asked what I'm looking for or seeking a permission I casually state I'm just looking for a coin older than I am. Which is pre 65. L.o.l..

1915 is WW1 era.
Long a fan of old unattended homesteads and farms there eventually came more reason some farms seemed to fade.
Yes later wars would follow and less former youth returning post wars.
But WW1 was a big change.
Used a crude chisel from one maybe , the other day. Only boulders pecked and a stump fence and some crude concrete in one small area hint anyone lived there.

WW2 was about when farms saw the final major drop in persons.
Tractors factored, but greater fragmentation of lands did too.

Britian farmers wanted more horses after WW1. Horses having suffered as much or more in recruitment as handlers .
But they had greater losses than horses. As did others!

[Between 1918 and 1922 a quarter of the land in Britain changed hands. There was often a bitter motive for selling after the war: the sons who would not return. ]

Alright.
Stand down and chill.

Folks aren't here to trip about what can be found in your phone.
No need to insult them for saying so.

Uncle Bill died dammit. Leave him out of real or perceived rudeness. You weren't here.
No it wasn't his phone . No it wasn't your phone.

R.I.P. Uncle Bill.

It is as I've been saying a lot lately. *EVERYTHING* in ones' life can change, *forever*...in ONE SINGLE HEARTBEAT.

My sympathies to your friend. But...nowadays? I live every single day waiting for the "other shoe" to drop.

Do what you can while you still can do!

Carpe diem!!!

So get to "carpe-ing"!!!!!
True. The stuff he'd been through with seriously bad Ptsd from serving then found a way to get back, then that double hit. Im still blown away by it all.
