ahhh...RTR, your cast net..

Is that the 4 foot diameter? Those look like the fake weights instead of lead? They will sink slow...
You may want to consider adding some lead weights next to them...
fish are used to predators, especially birds...they see the flash of the net, and bail...that is why you need a fast sink rate with a smaller net..

with less weight, larger fish will be able to go to the edge and lift the net and escape...

faster sink, less escape!
Yeah thats the 4' and "Lead" warning posters are plastered all over it.Should I wear a mask :laughing7::icon_scratch:

heh.... i grew up putting lead weights in my mouth.... cast net weight held by teeth is my technique... no joke.

Also... split shots... bit down to close em.... carried in mouth etc. as a kid.

***ARC thinks... Hmmm thats what wrong with me***

Love this net,and I've never used one before. Bait, here, was always cheap & easy to buy.Now its expensive, and hard to find(the right size minnows). Thanks to U-Tube it only took a dozen or so practice casts to get nice constant 'pancakes' .
Next net I'll probably work my way up to a 8 footer.

Good morning Antiquarian, rook and RTR.
